The jury for the international competition
Christine Franz
Christine Franz is a Berlin-based filmmaker and music journalist. Her award-winning music documentary “Bunch of Kunst. A film about Sleaford Mods” was released in 2017 and screened at film festivals worldwide including IDFA, CPH:DOX, Mar del Plata, in cinemas and on ARTE. She worked as music editor and producer/director for ARTE’s weekly music and arts program TRACKS for more than 10 years and taught music journalism at university. She is currently working on her second feature film and as music critic for national German broadcaster Deutschlandfunk Kultur.
Dagmara Kraus
Dagmara Kraus, born in 1981 in Wrocław, Poland. She studied comparative literature and art history in Leipzig, Berlin, and Paris and then attended the German Literature Institute to study creative writing. Currently, Dagmara Kraus holds a junior professorship for contemporary literary processes at the University of Hildesheim. Her most recent publications include her poetry collection ”liedvoll, deutschyzno” (kookbooks, 2020) and an essay on Miron Bialoszewski, “Murfla und die Blocksbärte” (Wunderhorn, 2022). Dagmara Kraus has received various awards for her literary and translation work, including the Honorary Award of the German Schiller Foundation in 2021 and the Merano Poetry Prize.
Ebele Okoye (alias Omenka Ulonka)
Ebele Okoye (alias Omenka Ulonka) migrated to Germany from Nigeria in the year 2000 to study animation. She has received awards from diverse institutions like DEFA Foundation, Robert Bosch Foundation, Africa Movie Academy Awards, Amnesty International, BMZ and United States Congress. Ebele has taught Animation at the Bauhaus University Weimar, led German-Bulgarian and German-US-Nigerian co-productions, and juried in festivals like Interfilm Berlin, Poetry Film Prize Weimar, and the Festival of Animation Berlin. She just founded “Spunky Toonz”, Nigeria’s first branded studio focusing on climate and social awareness content for children.

Özlem Özgül Dündar
Özlem Özgül Dündar is a freelance writer who studied literature and philosophy in Wuppertal and at the German Literature Institute in Leipzig. She writes poetry, prose, plays, radio plays, and essays. Her poetry debut “gedanken zerren” was published in 2018 (Elif Verlag). In 2018, she received the Kelag Prize as well as the Rolf Dieter Brinkmann Fellowship. Her radio play “türken, feuer” was named “Radio Play of the Year” in 2020. In addition to her work as a writer, she also translates poetry, primarily from Turkish and is often on the road with her collectives, “Ministerium für Mitgefühl” and “kollektiv flexen.”
Heinz Hermanns
Heinz Hermanns born 1958 in Duisburg, has for 39 years been the Director of the interfilm Berlin international short film festival and Artistic Director of the Almagro International Film Festival in Spain. He is a co-founder of the Eiszeit cinema, the Zebra Poetry Film Festival, the U-Bahn short film festival “Going Underground” and the Short Visions short film festival in Ningbo, China. Hermanns is a Visiting Professor of Short Film Dramaturgy at the SCAU in Guangzhou, China, and lectures on short film dramaturgy all over the world.

Heiko Strunk
Heiko Strunk born in 1966 and studied Literature, Philosophy and Politology in Marburg und Berlin. He is the project leader of the poetry platform lyrikline.org and a staff member of the Haus für Poesie and poesiefestival berlin, and has been a member of the program commission for the ZEBRA Poetry Film Festival since 2002.
Thomas Zandegiacomo Del Bel
Thomas Zandegiacomo Del Bel born in 1968, and studied German Literature, Romance Literature and Media and Communication Studies in Mannheim. He is a research assistant at the ZKM Center for Art and Media in Karlsruhe and the Deutsche Kinemathek in Berlin. He has been Artistic Director of the ZEBRA Poetry Film Festival since 2006.
